TOUCH ME NOT ( NU MA ATINGE-MA), the first feature length project by Romanian filmmaker Adina Pintilie, produced by MANEKINO FILM (Romania) and coproduced by 4 PROOF FILM (Romania) won few days ago the Special Mention of Cinelink Coproduction Market of Sarajevo International Film Festival 2011.

As well, TOUCH ME NOT is one of the 11 international projects selected in TORINO FILMLAB FRAMEWORK 2011, development program (supported by MEDIA) whichsupports emerging talents from all over the world, who are working on their first and second feature films, through training, development and funding activities.

TOUCH ME NOT was developed in BINGER FILMLAB AMSTERDAM 2009/2010 – Writers Lab and taken further in BINGER DIRECTORS LAB 2011. Prior to this, TOUCH ME NOT made its first steps into being in TORINO FILMLAB TRAINING (SCRIPT&PITCH WORKSHOP) – program supported by MEDIA PROGRAM of European Union. TOUCH ME NOT won the Arte France Cinema Award for the most promising project in Cinemart Rotterdam 2011.

On the border between fiction, documentary and visual art, daringly experimenting both in content and cinematic language, TOUCH ME NOT is an investigation on the human chronic longing for touch, for contact, on its multiple levels.

Participation in CINEMART offers an unique possibility to a selected number of directors/producers to present their film projects to co-producers, funds, sales agents, distributors, TV stations and other potential financiers from all over the world.

After being world premiered in Tiger Award Short Competition of Rotterdam Film Festival 2010, OXYGEN was afterwards screened in Buenos Aires BAFICI International Film Festival, Lisbon International Independent Film Festival Indielisboa, Warsaw International Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro International Women Film Festival, Transilvania International Film Festival etc

SYNOPSIS

During the communist dictatorship in Romania (1945-1989), thousands of people risked their lives in the attempt to run away from the country. Despair made them invent the most incredible methods to cross the border illegally. Some of them managed to escape, but many lost their lives in these attempts.

OXYGEN is a free reenactment of such a real case: a man who tried to cross the Danube illegally using an oxygen cylinder.

Yet, the facts are reinterpreted in a highly subjective vision. On the border between fiction, documentary and visual art, the film depicts an emotional landscape, a man’s inner journey towards a healing hereafter.
